Creative Core Connect
The Creative Core Connect was a project built for Centerstate CEO. The app contains over 2,000 businesses in Central New York, which can be segregated by county, downtown committee member affiliation, and chamber member affiliation. Listings are grouped into categories and individual listings can easily be searched for. A banner ad graces the bottom of the screen and has rotational functionality. Featured listings get prominent placement at the top of their category. Click through rates and impressions are provided to the client. A content management system was built to allow modification of all content and to enable the client to do batch uploads. The app was built using Titanium to reduce the future code base when adding features.
News For You
The News For You app is a mobile companion to ProLiteracy’s online news source designed for people who are learning to read, write, or speak English. Seven new stories are posted weekly for 48 weeks a year. These engaging articles are based on world and national news events. They are written at reading levels 3-6 and ESL levels high-beginning and low-intermediate.
Each article includes audio so readers can listen to the whole article. Key vocabulary is shown in blue with the definition appearing by just touching the word. An interactive crossword puzzle provides an enjoyable activity, while strengthening vocabulary skills. Each article is accompanied by two sets of interactive exercises to enhance understanding of the key concepts. Readers can get immediate feedback to their responses.
Clarkson Eyecare
Clarkson Eyecare was looking for a way to help their customers with iPhones and Androids find information for all their eye-care needs. From finding the nearest Clarkson Eyecare ovation, to getting a discount coupon on many eye-care services; the application services their customer with everything Clarkson.
Central New York Business Journal
As a primary news source for people in the Central New York area, it was necessary for CNY Business Journal to provide this information to their readers on-the-go. The most simplistic and efficient solution was to build a web application that met all of their consumer’s needs. These needs included news, social, and events updates, as well as information videos.
China Towne
After noticing a tremendous spike in mobile traffic to their website, China Towne Furniture realized they needed a better mobile presence. Their immediate concern was a mobile optimized website needed for their banner advertisement on Syracuse.com’s iPhone app and mobile website. China Towne was able to effecitively display the information that mobile users were most interested in – store hours, brands, contact info, and directions. It also allows China Towne to distribute their Jay Bucks to potential customers to help drive traffic to their store.
Gentiles Restaurant
In an effort to better communicate with their clients, Gentile’s commissioned AppFury to create a mobile web app. User’s are automatically redirected to Gentiles mobile site when visiting gentiles.com on a mobile device. Features include: Information about the restaurant, Gentile’s menu, photos, & recent social media updates.
Strategic Communications
Strategic Communications provides crisis communication plans to major corporations across the country. When disaster strikes, company executives need to easily and effectively communicate steps to manage the crisis. A replicable, secure web application was creative to help aid this process. Using the web app, company executives can easily review action steps and respond quickly by having their crisis communication plan at their fingertips.

SOHOinmypocket is a location-based navigation app that informs you of what’s around you and how to get there. In this case it’s New York City’s famed SoHo neighborhood; replete with stores, restaurants, hotels, art galleries, attractions, and more. Also offered are deals & discounts at your favorite places in New York City. Simply shake your iPhone/iPod Touch, win the deals, and present to the participating business.
In 2010, SOHOinmypocket was featured on the iTunes app store as “New and Noteworthy” and rose to one of the top ten most downloaded apps in the Navigation Category.
